Anti Gravity Hovering Craft and Lifters
Will power up to a 14” x 14” Craft

Fascinating project demonstrates a phenomena of direct electrical reactions that produce a thrust generating the effect of "anti gravity". You build a model space ship from simple materials and cause it to levitate without any visible means (you must provide the materials for this craft; we have found that stainless steel works best as an emitter wire, such as our WIRE2MIL10 or WIRE2MIL25 sold below, depending on the size of the craft you're building). Project includes a laboratory variable 10 to 30KV driver generating over 1ma at 20kv. The power input for this driver must be 12V and at least 3A, such as our BAT12/7 rechargeable battery for field use, or our 12DC/7 power converter for 115V wall outlet operation. CD-ROM contains valuable information showing assembly and flying hints of many sized and shaped craft that require simple construction and use readily-available low-cost materials. Build Long Range Laser Window Bounce Listeners

This series of ion ray and force field gun utilizes a self oscillating circuit with a current controlled transformer. The circuit produces a 7 to 9kv high frequency output voltage and an over current shutdown for safety when used in certain experiments as shown. The oscillator output is fed to a full wave voltage consisting of a number of stages that convert and multiply the peak value of the voltage waveform. Output resistors help control the high capacitive discharge currents that could damage the multiplier section. The circuitry is housed in a 1- 5/8" od length of plastic tubing. A 6" length is attached to the main housing to provide a butt handle like a hand gun. This section houses the 8 "AA" battery cell holder and has a strip of conductive metal tape to make contact to the users hand. This forces the users body to the system ground and provides a virtual ground for charge return. A simple push button switch controls power to the device.

Jacob's Ladders

Jacob's Ladder Our Jacob's ladder is available in two configurations as shown. The finished unit intended for museums and similar displays is fully enclosed with the traveling plasma arc inside of a 3 x 24" clear plastic shroud. The base of the unit is formed from sheet aluminum and houses all the electronics with the controls being on the from panel. A black textured piece of aircraft lexan is formed into the cover. An internal fan supplies a slight over atmosphere pressure at the bottom starting point of the arc ladder and speeds up the display It also eliminates any arc hangup from forming. The kit when purchased as a project kit is built in an open configuration where the ladder elements are exposed and the electronics are located beneath a clear plexiglas deck allowing visual exposure of all parts. Both units produce a traveling wave of plasma that starts at the base of the ladder electrode elements, rises and widens as it ascends and evaporates into space. The arc as it extinquishes reaches a length of 2 to 3 inches. It then repeats and continues traveling up the ladder, evaporating and restarting. Both units allow varying the arc texture by a simple control that also is the main power switch. Texture can be a thin wispy like spark to a heavy hot energetic plasma arc. Unlike the use of neon high voltage transformers for powering the system where accidental contact can be life threatening, this circuitry automatically shuts down before a shock can occur. Unit now requires resetting by simply removal of the power. Even without this (GFI) ground fault interrupting feature, contact is still not life threatening or dangerous, but can produce a startling shock. Volta's Hailstorm

When near an active Van de Graaff Generator, the tiny conductive balls inside begin to bounce up and down. It looks as if the pieces are "hailing" as they skitter and rebound. The explanation lies in the fact that the floor and ceiling of the cage become electrically charged. The Van de Graaff builds up a charge by induction as electrons are transferred from the ceiling to the floor. Since the balls lying on the floor are now negatively charged, they are attracted by the positively charged ceiling. But when the balls hit the ceiling, their negative charge is neutralized and they become positively charged instead. Down they fall to the negatively charged floor where they become positively charged upon impact. Back and forth, upwards and down - a veritable "hailstorm in a teapot." Rare Earth Magnets

Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. The permanent magnets system are composed of licensed grade 40 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Rare Earth Magnet Composition Rare earth magnets are magnets composed of alloys of the Lanthanide group of elements. The two Lanthanide elements most prevalent in the production of permanent magnets are Neodymium and Samarium. There are numerous alloy formulations of rare earth magnets covered under many different patents but the most common commercial varieties are Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) and Samarium Cobalt (SmCo). Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets are the most advanced commercialized permanent magnet material available today. Rare earth magnets are available in sintered and bonded forms. Sintered magnets are a type of ceramic composed of the compressed powder of the alloy material being used. Sintering involves the compaction of fine alloy powder in a die and then fusing the powder into a solid material with heat. While the sintered magnets are solid, their physical properties are more similar to a ceramic and are easily broken and chipped. Bonded magnets use a polymer base to hold the alloy powder together. The energy product of bonded magnets is much lower than that of the sintered magnets. Sintered NdFeB magnets are generally plated or coated with a material to prevent corrosion. There are various coatings available. Nickel-Copper-Nickel plating has excellent corrosion resistance and durability as well as providing an clean and shiny appearance. All of our stock rare earth magnets are sintered Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets plated in Nickel-Copper-Nickel. Magnet Grades The grade of a magnet directly refers to the Maximum Energy Product of the material that composes the magnet. It in no way refers to the physical properties of the magnet. Simplistically, grade is generally used to describe how "strong" a permanent magnet material is. The energy product is specified in the units Gauss Oersted. One MGOe is 1,000,000 Gauss Oersted. A grade forty (N40) would have a Maximum Energy Product of 40 MGOe. The higher the grade the “stronger” the magnet.

The Fire Syringe is a classic example of the Ideal Gas Law (PV=nRT). By compressing air into a smaller volume, we are also increasing the temperature. Looking at the formula, a large increase in P, a small decrease in V, with n and R being constant, leads to a large increase in T. Kit includes: aluminum piston, lexan piston chamber, and 2 custom made o-rings. You will also need to supply tiny pieces of non-moisturized tissue paper. Setup: The setup is quick and easy. Pull out the syringe, drop in 3-4 tiny 5 mm or so tissue pieces. Then re-insert the aluminum piston gently so that it just enters the mouth of the piston chamber. Holding the unit flat on a non-slip surface, push down the aluminum piston with some force and speed. You will see a quick flask of fire, which will last until all available oxygen is used up. How it works: Air gets very hot when compressed under high pressure. If you have ever pumped up a bicycle tire, you have noticed the heat generated. When the air in the fire syringe is compressed, it is done so fast and efficiently, so that it can reach a temperature of over 260 degrees C (500 degrees F). As paper burns at 235 dgrees C (454 degrees F), the small pieces of tissue paper ignite. Maintenance: Your syringe has been pre-lubricated and should not need any more. After each use, blow out the carbon dust from the small fire you just made and it is good to use again.
