Each of the FF1200R17KE3 modules contains two 1700 volt 1200 amp IGBTs intended for use in a half-bridge circuit, or use two modules for a full bridge. These devices are full-spec tested units that normally cost well over $2000 each! We have a limited amount obtained from a company that we bought out. They can be used for ultra-large TESLA coils, capacitor discharge pulsers, infrasonic ground shakers, segmented rail and coil guns, motor control, power control and many other high-powered applications.

SPECIAL NOTE: proposed “Voice of God Tesla Coil” You cannot imagine the talking and singing TESLA coil that could be made with these in a full bridge hookup. We have voltage-doubled our 440 volt 3 phase lines to almost 1000 volts for powering these monsters. They will be mounted on water cooled plates to allow for phase heating while experimenting with various coil geometries. Full frequency ratings are 4khz but we have successfully run them at 1000 volts 50 amps power above 25 khz. Our expectations are over 75 foot pulsed discharges until we eventually determine where we safely can run in a continuous mode and then modulate over 50 to 100 kw of out put power. Our dedicated on-premise substation is maxed at 500kw (courtesy of public service). This project will be in live video as we progress and will be one of the first of a series of our technology sharing programs on a “show as we go” basis. As mentioned, the price of these components new are normally around $2400.00 each, but we are able to offer them at a substantial discount! |
